Vintage Baja Tour Announcement

Drums Across The Border

Gordon and Chilly with their 1975 Bultaco 360 Frontera’s , near Wallace Idaho

Our first ever “Vintage Baja Tour” will be January 11-14. With the success Gordon and I had riding our Bultaco’s on the Idaho Backcountry Discovery route this summer, we decided to plan another ride and invite everyone along. The bikes were so much fun that we started to immediately think about the next adventure.

As the title implies, this ride is intended for drum brake motorcycles. I am not going to keep that as a hard and fast rule, so if you have something else that fits into the era, that should be fine.

  • For Drum brake bikes
  • Also welcome is any pre-1990 motorcycle that was your personal race bike from the era. Bring those vintage race bikes back to life!
  • Anyone over 70 can ride whatever they damn well please, vintage riders welcome
  • We will have extra support and chase vehicles, we will be prepared to retrieve bikes if needed.
  • Route will be suitable for old bikes, but expect some challenging options for those who are interested
  • Otherwise this will be just like our other rides, look at “need to know” section for more details
  • Most of all this will be a fun ride geared to get the most enjoyment from vintage riding
  • We may have an award for oldest combined bike/rider age, but Gordon will probably win it
  • Ride along passenger space is available also, contact me
  • Not only will you get to ride with Gordon, but Baja legends Jimmy Sones and Gnarly Dave will probably be along too
  • For those on two strokes, we will plan to have premium fuel with Maxima Super M at 50:1, plus octane boost
  • There is a special discount rate for this one of a kind tour, $1500 this includes everything once we cross the border – fuel, food, hotels, support.

Our ride is sponsored by Vey’s Powersports and Bike Bandit. They will be along with us to provide support and I expect they will show up with some vintage iron to show off also!
